Student Ministries Director

Overview

New North Church (NNC) is a thriving congregation of 1,000 people on the San Francisco Peninsula. The Student Ministries Director will provide leadership for a growing, thriving, and reaching Student Ministry at NNC. The Student Ministries Director is a full-time position and reports to the Generations Pastor.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Middle School Ministry (MSM) and High School Ministry (HSM)
  • Implement the vision and strategy for the spiritual growth of middle school and high school students
  • Develop a strategy for reaching unchurched students with the gospel
  • Develop meaningful, pastoral relationships with students through a variety of settings
  • Recruit, equip, train, and shepherd teams of leaders to work with MSM and HSM
  • Oversee the development of a core of student leaders
  • Connect and counsel students, parents and people in the body as the need arises
  • Create and run vibrant Sunday morning services
  • Be one of the primary teachers for Middle School and High School Ministry on Sunday mornings
  • Provide leadership to MSM and HSM mid-week event (currently Life Groups)
  • Create effective transitions into and out of MSM and HSM
  • Organize and plan activities, retreats, and the overall student ministry calendar
  • Communicate regularly with parents and students via email, text, and social media

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the rest of the Generations Team to foster a cohesive experience across Generations ministries
  • Work with the rest of the Generations Team on projects and activities spanning multiple ministries
  • Be involved in staff meetings, activities, and staff responsibilities
  • Implement and execute the Best Practices of New North Church
  • Be available to do other tasks that the Generations Pastor deems necessary

Qualifications:

  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; desiring to grow in His love and knowledge
  • Must endorse the mission, vision, values and doctrinal statement of New North Church
  • Highly adaptable
  • Have a love for the Bible and the ability to communicate it with passion to large and small groups of young people
  • Highly relational; a person who likes working with students, adult leaders, families and others in the body
  • Innovative developer with a commitment to reaching unchurched families.

  • 4-year degree, some Bible or seminary training preferred
  • Good working knowledge of technology; specifically Macs, GoogleGSuite
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills
  • Multi-site experience desirable

Kids Director

Overview

New North Church (NNC) is a thriving congregation of 1,000 people on the San Francisco Peninsula.The Kids Director will provide leadership for the New North Kids ministry which spans the ages of infants through 5th grade. This position will include, but is not limited to, building an exciting, innovative, and safe ministry for children and their families, pastoring families, training and pastoring leaders and volunteers, preparing curriculum, and planning special events as it aligns with the New North Kids / Generations Team vision and overall church mission to make and mature more followers of Christ. This full time position requires working on Sunday mornings. The Kids Director will report to the Generations Pastor.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Shepherd families in the ministry, meeting regularly with them to develop meaningful relationships
  • Lead and manage Kids Ministry Team
  • Oversee Sunday Elementary ministry (K - 5th grade)
    • Recruit, equip, schedule, and shepherd a team of volunteer leaders in Elementary Ministry
    • Prepare age appropriate curriculum and activities for Kindergarten through 5th grade
    • Welcome first-time Elementary children and their families
    • Setup and teardown of environments
    • Maintain supplies
    • Conduct and create special events for Elementary aged children
  • Develop strategies to engage unchurched families with the gospel
  • Communicate regularly with families via email, text, social media, and face-to-face meetings
  • Think creatively to improve New North Kids strategies for engaging families
  • Ensure and champion health and safety guidelines
  • Effectively manage the Kids Ministry budget
  • Work with the Early Childhood Director to recruit, train, and lead team of paid KidCare workers for midweek ministries and special events

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the New North Generations team and New North staff to plan trainings, special events, and projects spanning multiple ministries
  • Participate in New North staff meetings, activities, and staff responsibilities
  • Connect with and visit other Kids Ministries, attend conferences, read books, attend seminars, take classes, and be intentional about self/­leadership development.
  • Intake New North Church Special Needs requests as needed
  • Implement and execute the Best Practices of New North Church
  • Be available to do other tasks that the Generation’s Pastor deems necessary

Worship Leader

Overview

New North Church (NNC) is a thriving congregation of 1,000 people on the San Francisco Peninsula. The Worship Leader position serves the church as a Worship Leader, while also providing excellent support to the global Worship & Creative Community in partnership with other Worship Leaders, the Worship & Creative Pastor and the Core Leadership Team. The Worship Leader position is part-time — 20 to 25 hours per week. It requires working on Sundays and/or Thursday evenings and reports to the Worship & Creative Pastor.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Worship Services, independently, 10-12 times per year
  • Serve as a Co-Worship Leader in collaboration with Worship Pastor or other Worship Leaders
  • Provide Leadership to Vocal Teams, Bands, Prayer Teams, and Team Care in collaboration with Worship Pastor and Leadership Team
  • Design and prepare Service Plans, order of Service, creative elements, and establish the vibe with the other key leaders involved
  • Oversee scheduling components of guest worship leaders, bands, vocal teams, and special service elements
  • Develop leaders that will be equipped to serve in many differing capacities of the Worship & Creative Community Teams
  • Be available to lead worship at retreats, special events and midweek ministries periodically as needed

Administrative:

  • Participate in Sunday services and/or Thursday evening rehearsals (required)
  • Maintain demanding calendars
  • Provide ongoing Planning Center Online (PCO) and roster maintenance for teams of volunteers
  • Ensure global position coverage for weekend services, at least two weeks out
  • Prepare weekly music sets
  • Liaise with other teams under the Worship & Creative Community umbrella, including but not limited to prayer team, stage design, tech teams, drama team, church leadership team and other ministries as necessary; be the information hub for the Worship Community and Team
  • Draft and release all basic emails to assigned Worship Teams
  • Build network of local artists (vocalists, musicians, dancers, speakers) for special church events
  • Identify personnel, logistic, functional, and scheduling gaps and fill them in rehearsals, services, gatherings and meetings

  • Other tasks as deemed necessary by the Worship & Creative Pastor

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of Worship Leading experience
  • Vocal and instrumental proficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience

Community Life Coordinator

Overview

The Community Life Coordinator will provide administrative support for NN Community Life Ministries so they can best implement the mission and vision of New North. The Community Life Coordinator is a part-time position, 20 hours per week, and reports to the Community Life Pastor.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent, service-oriented administrative support to Community Life Pastor
  • Help to organize logistics and run errands for Community Life Events
  • Provide administrative, planning and task support for retreats, events and meetings for Community Life at New North
  • Assist Campus Experience Director with scheduling volunteers
  • Oversee and track Community Life Budget and submit Community Life expenses
  • Take notes of meetings and distribute to participants after the meeting
  • Engage various community partners to cultivate outreach opportunities
