Student Ministry at New North strives to make and mature more followers of Christ. We do this through much prayer and what we as a church value: worship, community, God’s Word, God’s grace, outreach, service and leadership by our elders.
The Student Ministry Staff and volunteers are excited to meet your student. We have a ministry to a very wide and diverse age group and welcome all students in the 6th through 12th grades to come and join us no matter where they are in their faith journey. We hope and pray that students who walk through our doors hear the gospel of Jesus and know they are loved, cared for and accepted for who they are and where they are in their faith journey. We have a wonderful volunteer staff who work endless hours to hang out with students, listen, learn, and celebrate the joys and sorrows in students’ lives.

Middle School Ministry
New North Middle School exists to get middle school students thinking deeper about their purpose, their identity and their relationship with the world around them. We believe the answer to all of those questions can be found in Jesus. There are four parts to this Ministry.
Our Sunday morning ministry meets during the 9 am service in the Student Ministry room. We play games, dive into God’s word, and leave room for discussion time.
Life Groups are solidified small groups of students and leaders that meet every Wednesday night from 7:30pm to 9pm throughout the school year. The goal of Life Groups is to dig deeper in our friendships and our relationship with God.
On the first Wednesday of every month we celebrate First Wednesdays!. These are themed nights designed to be wildly fun and insanely inviting. First Wednesdays! are perfect opportunities for students to invite their friends and happen from 7:30pm to 9pm.
Lastly, we have camps. New North Middle School participates in two camps a year, one in the summer, and one in the fall.
High School Ministry
In High School Ministry (HSM) at New North we want to see students on the Peninsula transformed by the good news about Jesus. To that end, we do four things:
First, on Wednesday nights we hang out and talk about life in Life Groups. We meet in the Student Ministry Room at New North Church, split up into groups facilitated by extraordinary leaders, and get into the real stuff students are facing.
Second, on the first Wednesday of every month we celebrate First Wednesdays!. These are themed nights designed to be wildly fun and insanely inviting. First Wednesdays! are perfect opportunities for students to invite their friends. First Wednesdays! meet from 7:30 to 9pm in the Student Ministry Room.
Third, our Sundays are designed to hear God. We walk through books of the Bible with thoughtful messages applied specifically to high school students, and then students break up individually to participate in spiritual exercises designed to create space for God to speak directly to students. Sundays we meet at 11 am in the Student Ministry Room.
Finally, we escape to camp twice a year: once in the summer (houseboats on Lake Shasta), once in the winter (Hume Lake in the Sierras). These camps break students from their normal routine and always end up being highlights of the year.
