Care Ministry

Care Ministries aims to serve members of New North Church and the surrounding community with Support Ministries and Biblical Counseling. One of the many goals of these service areas is to connect one another at New North Church while serving others and being the example of Jesus' love.

In addition, we recognize that life's challenges can be opportunities of personal growth with the caring support of others in the church body. Please share your needs to the degree you feel comfortable in any of the following areas:

SUPPORT MINISTRY

During certain times of our lives, we may need the support of others through times of birth, sickness, and loss. Members of New North Church hope to aid people practically and spiritually. To sign up for meal delivery, handyman help, and housekeeping to maintain home cleanliness, please complete the following on-line form. Please note that we cannot guarantee that we will fill the need but that we will try our best to find a member in the New North congregation to assist you.

Join our Support Connections Network and use your gifts on your own schedule to serve others who have needs within the body. When you sign up, you can identify time frames during which you’re generally available and ways that you’d be willing to help out.

We’ll then send out “alerts” when someone within the body has a need, and you can offer to help as your time permits. Service opportunities can range from providing a meal, prayer, handyman assistance or help around the house.

BIBLICAL COUNSELING

Through trained lay counselors, our formal lay counseling ministry offers biblical guidance, insight and encouragement to individuals during times of crisis, change or personal difficulties.

We believe that God created us with the need to be loved, the need to belong, and the need to feel purposeful. The goal of this ministry is to guide counselees toward discovering their true identity in Christ so they can experience the fulfillment that God intended for each of us. This is done over the course of 6-8 sessions that are scheduled at mutually convenient times and locations.
