Jeremiah 1:1-2:30
Philippians 4:1-23
Psalm 75:1-10
Proverbs 24:17-20

Where is my life going? Am I making a difference? What’s going on in this world? How can I help? Who should I vote for? I need answers and I need them now!

Hard to believe that these same questions first came up when I was in high school as a new Christian, but somehow these feelings have come around again recently. Trust me, there is a much longer list of questions these days, and they seem to add faster than they subtract. The more I dwell on them, the more anxious and frustrated I get. Then as I read through these devotional passages, God reminded me that the answers have always been right there in front of me.

Philippians 4:6-7

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

When I look back to see how He answered these questions for me, I realize that He did give me peace. He did guard my heart and my mind. He has shown me the blessings that come from seeking answers from Him. He took away my worries and concerns. He comforted me and reminded me that everything will be alright. He did it once before, and He'll continue to do it each and every time.

It’s ok to have questions. The answers are right there. All I had to do is ask.

To Memorize:

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!

— Phillipians 4:4

Prayer to start with: Dear Lord, thank you for hearing me. Thank you for taking away my worries. Thank you for having the answers. No matter what happens, you are in control. Amen.
