2 Chronicles 19:1-20:37
Romans 10:14-11:12
Psalm 21:1-13
Proverbs 20:4-6

This past week, I was facing a battle I did not think I would be able to overcome. Instead of reaching out to God, I turned around and ran as fast as I possibly could. I blamed Him for what was happening. All my prayers consisted of me basically yelling at God, telling Him how unfair He was being. It was all too much. I just wanted to sit down and give up. But, thankfully, I have a community who loves to pray. Through the prayers of my friends and family, I was able to give the battle over to God. I still do not know the outcome of this situation, but I do know that God is good, and He is fighting for me!

As I read 2 Chronicles, Chapter 20, I was surprised at just how similar Judah’s situation was to my own. They were also facing what seemed to be an impossible battle. They did not know how they were going to defeat their enemy, so they came together and prayed. God displayed His mighty power by showing them that the battle was not theirs, but His to fight.

How great is it that we have a God who fights our battles for us? He takes the weight that is on our shoulders and carries it on His instead. Today, let us be thankful that God sees and knows us deeply. That he knows how we are hurting and the battles we are facing, and that He has a good and perfect plan for all of it.

To memorize:

Be exalted in your strength, Lord;
we will sing and praise your might.

— Psalm 21: 13

Prayer to start with: God, help us to see that we are never going to win our battles by holding on to them and trying to win them ourselves. Help us to see how desperately we need You. Help us to know that You have a good and perfect plan for us, even when we cannot see it. Thank You for fighting for us. Thank you for Your strength and Your power. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
