talk to him

2 Samuel 19:11-20:13
The passage I have chosen to read out of today is Psalms 120:1-2. I love this small passage. I think it’s very important to remember it. Especially now in these times of crisis. During the Covid- 19 Pandemic. It says in verse 1, “In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.” That is such a strong reassurance that he hears us now in this time. Right here, right now.
About a year ago I started making some wrong decisions. Doing some bad stuff and even hurt some people that were close to me. It got to the point where my parents and brothers couldn’t really look me in the eye. When I reached a point where it seemed like there was no way out, he came to me. And I don’t know how but I suddenly just felt his presence all around me. I just knew it was him And it’s amazing because he heard me. I realize now that I was lost. I needed God. During that time I wasn’t reading my bible or leaning upon him. I was in distress, making the wrong decisions. But still I was a nobody and he heard me. He delivered me from deceit and lying lips (Psalm 120:2). I believe this just goes to show that no matter what, and I mean no matter what, you are going through. He will hear you.
Now you may be thinking, “Oh there’s no way God would pay attention to me. There're 7.1 billion people on this earth how can he hear me? How can he even love me?” I’m telling you right now that it doesn't matter what you have done. Because he is a loving God, he is a merciful God, He is a kind God. He will hear you.
How can you apply and start relying and leaning on the Lord instead of depending on other worldly things. The simplest and easiest answer I would say is prayer. Just go and talk with God. He will listen. Tell him about the good and the bad. Tell him about what’s going on in your life. I like to do these things. I call them prayer tweets. Every once in a while throughout my day I just think about what’s going on and send him a little prayer and say hi to him.
During this pandemic let’s remember this verse from Psalms 50:15 “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.” I urge you. Turn to God. No matter how big or small turn to him. And he will listen. Aloha <3
I call on the Lord in my distress,
and he answers me.
— Psalm 120:1
Prayer to start with: Lord, thank you for listening. You are always there. You rescue me in the valleys and you're with me on the mountain tops. I praise your unfailing name. Amen.
