Passages of the day: Click HERE to read today’s passages.
As I reflect on the selected passages, I feel an overwhelming sense of God’s goodness and joy. Although we are in these difficult times, God is not surprised by our current events. God never changes, he is the same yesterday, today and forever. Every day he gives us an opportunity to see his grace and joy in all situations.
Jesus doesn’t promise us that we will live in perfect circumstances when we follow him, but he does promise his perfect love and joy in all circumstances. So good!
Reading the passages about Jesus healing the ten Lepers is fascinating to me. Out of the ten, only one came back and thanked Jesus in person. This passage shows the Lord’s heart to us. He wants to heal us and he does heal us. Regardless of our appreciation or gratitude, Jesus knew only one would return, but the others were healed even so. God gives us free will. We have the free will to believe in his promises and we have the free will to believe lies. God gives us free will but still does things on our behalf, he loves us, he heals us and he supplies the faith to be healed.
In these times, we have the choice to believe in the gloomy news that is happening right now, or in spite of the news, we can believe the Lord. There are facts and truths, just like Joshua faces, The facts were all the armies of the king were against him. The truth God gave him was not to worry and to trust in God to vanquish the armies. God came through.
I believe God will and is coming through for us during these difficult times. His love and joy are still here for us to experience right now.
When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the
priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.
