Deuteronomy 4:1-49
Luke 6:39-7:10
Psalm 68:1-18
Proverbs 11:28

Life would be so easy if God would just write the answers to our prayers on the clouds in the sky. All we’d have to do is look up to see a yes, a no, a maybe, or a here’s how this is going to happen in your life!

I don’t want God to speak to me in a still, small voice. I want him to shout at me. I want him to respond to my prayers by saying, “Let me make this perfectly clear.”

And yet that’s not the way He works. On Ash Wednesday my community group began the 40-day prayer challenge from the book, Draw the Circle by Mark Batterson. We had no idea then that for most of those forty days we would be sheltering-in-place, but that’s where we are. And, wow, is God challenging our prayer lives! The author opens the book with these words, “you’ll look back on these forty days as the best forty days of your life. They won’t be the easiest; in fact, they may be the hardest.”

How did he know? Yes, these are hard days, but they are days when the prayers are deeper, the trust is stronger, and the commitment is greater. They are days when we cling to His Word and His promises as never before and when this is over, we just may look back and recognize that we do hear Him clearly and these are the best days of our lives.

Love, Susan

To memorize:
But if from there you seek the Lord your God,
you will find him if you seek him
with all your heart and with all your soul.
